A Typical American TragedyA Poem by vydenmyriaWritten 12/31/21You can say that I'm a casualty. I'm just a product of a relationship that I never dreamed of. A typical American tragedy. Lost and alone inside, opposite of what it seems, When you see our pics on social media. I can't help but seek out stress. Burden after burden resolved. I need some weight to carry. Yet, this emptiness, a mystery unsolved. I am trapped in my own life I refuse to feel alive The past is always here For me to hide behind. When I wake up in the morning I know I wasn't sleeping Just seething from the mundane And to the simple fact that we are the same Yet, we share no common interests, To keep us entertained. Just two lonely lives together, For what feels like forever. © 2021 vydenmyria |
