A Poem by Rani

I watched her run away to sea;
Away from home, away from me.
There was nothing I could say or do,
For her resolve was pure and true.

I watched her lose herself at sea;
A piece now gone, still floating free.
Though I tried, I couldn’t save her.
Slowly, her resilience began to waiver.

I watched her make her way back home,
But this time, broken and feeling alone.
Though I was there, I could not help,
For a wound like this must heal itself.

I dreamed she found herself at sea;
I saw her smiling, finally.
The piece of her that once was lost
Had returned-- but at what cost?

Nice poem with deep meanings.

I like your style, your poems are very compact and classical somehow.

At some point in time...we have all lost a part of ourselves...only to rediscover it later. And at what cost? Well...it depends on if we like what we see.
