Heart of the Lost and UnforgivenA Poem by Rena MichiePoem from high school (around 2003). Teen poetry
It beats of Thunder
Under a Summer sky. It feels so uneasy Like a badly told lie. It knows all the feelings That could ever be felt. It is like all the problems That never were dealt. It works in wonders Like high clouds above. It sleeps forever Like eternal Love. It searches for a way Out of the darkness. It looks for a person And begs them forgiveness. It lurks in the depths Crying, Pining, in Agonizing pain. It feels of a thousand knifes Plunging, under the summer rain. It sounds suspicious Like an unsolved crime. It Decomposes and Disintegrates Into dust within time. It sometimes left shattered Broken into pieces. Hoping someone would come along To sense the pain, that it releases. It brings Pain Along with Joy It sends out everything That it can deploy. It looks up once At the open Summer Skies It looks down again Falls over, then dies. It was never mourned Or followed by a trend. It was forevermore Lost And then Forgotten. © 2017 Rena Michie |
