Hollow Eyes

Hollow Eyes

A Poem by Rena Michie
"

Poem from high school (around 2003). I was a gloomy teenager...

"
I forgot all that I had
Forgot how much it meant to me
Everything I once loved
Is meaningless now

Things I used to love have became distant
I don't care anymore
As if I have lost touch with my heart
Lost and Forgotten who I am

I miss my old self
But I can't seem to find her
As if she has walked out of me
And disappeared forever

Now I am empty
Hoping to find her
Wherever she may be
So I can replace this vacant part of me

Wow! That's putting your heart out there. I've read many poems that kind of relate to this and I think I've had the same feelings in the past.

It's as though the internal compass is spinning out of control and you have no direction inside.

Only time and deep contemplation--a well as observation of your behavior and surroundings can clear up the fog. At least that's my opinion anyway.

I hope things get clearer as time goes on and you can find your self again. :)
