One Day

One Day

A Poem by Christina Carpenter
"

The second stanza of the third verse can be taken out and you can have one person sing the first stanza of the third verse while someone else sings the last chorus

"
Guitar chords: G, D, C, G

Verse 1:
As the tears fall down my face
I think of you
I never thought you'd hurt me
But love for me is new

I've learned that years are raindrops
From the storms inside of us
But after every storm
Comes a rainbow

Chorus:
One day I'll be smiling and laughing with no regrets (x2)

(Interlude)
Verse 2:
Outside might be sunny
But I wouldn't know
I'm still in this hurricane
I haven't had my rainbow

For now I am crying
I still feel the pain
Until I find my rainbow my raindrops hit the ground

Guitar: Em, C, Em, C, Em, C, Em, C, Em, D
Bridge:
(And) now I'm alone
In this noisy crowd (x2)

Verse 3:
As the tears fall down my face
I think of you
Even though I'm still in this hurricane
I know it'll be over soon

And now I realize
You gave me a second chance
And maybe on this second try
I'll find that right guy

Chorus:
One day I'll be smiling
And laughing with no regrets (x2)
