A Poem by Jemima Laing

I said some things the other day

Just to cause you pain

I said some things the other day

That I will never say again

I don't know why, I don't know why

I don't know why I did

I wanted to take my pain

And make you feel it too

It was such a petty thing I did

And you were so right when you said

"I never did that to you"

But I thought you did, it felt like you did

I hope you will forgive me

As time moves on by

I hope you will forgive me

For when I made you cry

I hope you will forgive me

For not making some things

Special as they should have been

And for ever doubting you

I'm sorry I didn't give you

Everything that you deserved

I was wrong not to trust you

I said some things the other day

That I will never say again
