Herd Mentality

Herd Mentality

A Poem by Jemima Laing

 I’m so confused, I’m in a daze

I just feel so blind

I can’t see through this thick haze

That is dulling my mind

I can feel my fingers unfurl

And I can make my body move

Oh, yeah this robot can whirl

But I can’t improve

I can march and I can step

I can blend in with the rest

Each day is another rep

I can pass the drone test

But every once in awhile

That line between us blur

Enough to beguile

And conformity starts to purr

It seduces with those silky voices

It coaxes and doesn’t command

Tempting with sweet choices

And showing you something grand

But in the end the curtain falls

And you have to face the fact

That as down come the walls

It’s you alone who have to act

Not much to say. I tend to be influenced by whatever music I am listening to. I also miss-spell many words. My passions include massive amounts of reading and fencing. I do tend break out in song rand.. more..
