The seven-headed hydra

The seven-headed hydra

A Poem by Jemima Laing

The seven-headed hydra

Sits upon its throne

The seven-headed hydra

Throws us a bone

The seven-headed hydra

Takes what we hold dear

The beast doesn't even care

It doesn't even shed a tear

But the beast is not to blame

The beast cannot choose

The beast is a puppet

Controlled by those with nothing to lose

The beast used to guard us

To help us thrive and flourish

The beast was soon tamed

By those it guarded against

Now we have nothing

No education at all

The beast has left nothing

But a hollow shell

Not much to say. I tend to be influenced by whatever music I am listening to. I also miss-spell many words. My passions include massive amounts of reading and fencing. I do tend break out in song rand.. more..
