Paralysis

Paralysis

A Poem by Jemima Laing

Perfect, mind-numbing, life-changing fear

As I step out into the real world

One small step out of my house

One giant leap out of my comfort-zone

My mind exagerates the gripping terror

Acting as the magnifying glass

To my insignificant form below

My friends see nothing wrong

I'm just another teenage girl

In the shortest skirt I have ever worn

It comes right up to my knees!

This fear is so silly and unatural

I don't know where it came from

I just wish it would go away

And the eviction notice was sent

Quite a while ago

But the tenacious little b*****d

Has made it clear he's going to stay
