Fy Caru: Letter Two

Fy Caru: Letter Two

A Poem by Jemima Laing

Fy Caru,

I lie here with you in my arms

It's not blood in my veins

To be this good

It has to be ether

It burns like fire

With the raging desire

My cheek against your arm

And your hand in mine

We lie here our bodies entwined

It feels so right, it can never end

It does all too soon, with the sun

On the rise, and the demise

Of our silent sanctuary

But you're not mine to hold

And to cherish, oh the anguish

We're just friends, nothing more

A grim victory though it may be

I know he will never hold you

Hold you so tight, like I do tonight

-Lufu
