friendship

friendship

A Poem by Kristen
"

What does it really mean?

"
what exactly defines
"friendship"?

The dictionary says "the emotions or conduct of friends; the state of being friends"

But friendships can come from anywhere.
when they need you
when they want something from you
when you have information

why is it that humans have a tendency to only show kindness to someone and make friends with them only when there is something they want from them?

Granted, not all people are like this. However, the people that aren't, coincidentally, only have one friend to a handful of them at most.

Humans as a species are complex.
Upsetting at times, even.
I will be waiting for the day when friendship means more than your possessions or social status.
I may be waiting for a while.

Quite a thoughtful write up!! In the world we live in, everyone takes advantage of someone for their gain. Its life!!

The world has a funny way of twisting the most pure things. Look what it does to innocent children. Maybe we've just added a new meaning to the word 'friendship' and we only need to go back to when it was original, beautiful, and true. Then again it's hard to find an original in a world of fakes. Once again a lovely and meaningful piece. You are one of the originals. Keep dreaming ^^
