the color of winter

the color of winter

A Poem by voidsparrow
"

it was a long car ride over the pass in the snow

"

You make me think of

Toboggans, identical snowflakes

And a Honda civic

With one broken tail light

Barely visible in the fog.

You make me think of

Fuzzy sweaters, down blankets,

Red brick apartments and

Ghost stories that we told

Under rust colored trees.

You make me think of

That one little girl

At the reunion who always smiles.

You are the one

Who occupies my mind

During one of those long car trips.

Sometimes I notice that the sound

Cuts out right before I fall asleep.

Without you, I would have

Never realized that.

You make me think of beautiful things

When its too cold to think about anything.

I want to wrap my arms around you

And talk about the color of winter.
