steel horizonA Poem by voidsparrowcity at nightLets go to the city The big city with a soul of bright lights And we can wander aimlessly And aim for a flashing yellow bulls eye. We can go to a place Where we can mumble incoherently About all purpose flour And bright green sneakers Where we can stare at sleeping homeless people Where the sun turns red at 6:30 every night And we are bathed in the blood of everything. Let us forget the grass and the trees And walk among the crowd 2 grains of sand in an ocean black and white. May we become lost in the concrete forest And watch the traffic march through main street. We can be oblivious We can be absurdly happy We can be vulnerable But only to the towering metal skyline This steel horizon has eyes. © 2010 voidsparrow |
