Woke up, house was on fire

Thought I'd just lay here in bed

After all, I would remain flesh and blood

If I were to burn to death

It might hurt a bit, but so would hell

I'll let this cleanse my sins

Suddenly, a masked figure came

And said, I'm taking you away from this

He took me outside

And I watched what I held dear

Fall to the ground

The man said to me

Dear boy, is this what you were dying for?

And I cried

This is my apology to me

I'm sorry for being selfish

I walked away, towards something new

Thought I could forget the past

After all, what good would it do

If this was the last I would see it

Might hurt to forget

The things that used to make who I am

Suddenly, the masked man took my hand

And said 'we're going to see the future'

He took me to the cemetery

And all of my fears

Were uncovered

He said is this what you were living for?

And I cried

This is my apology to me

I'm sorry for being selfish

Can you make me new, could I be like you?
