i want to be fearless

sculpture on campus.

there is a driftwood horse
standing proud for some reason
on campus near d street.
i have never touched it
and he knows just as i do
by the way i look at him
that he looks ridiculous
and i dont have the heart
to say anything to him.
i suppose he thinks
that i am a coward for
avoiding him all these years.
