Disconnect

A Poem by Katia Silverfyre
"

Is there really a difference between virtual reality and real life? The synthetic glow of neon lights and sunlight are one and the same: harsh and unforgiving.

"
Looking out windows white-washed and bare
Across the sky to this city's dead sun
What can we do to feel alive in sterile oceans of confusion
Drifting along the waves of complacency
Is this happiness or am I just numb
Is this heaven or just some sick transmutation

We're all trapped in this bubble, waiting for it to burst
Waiting for a savior that never arrives
It never fails, the television prophets  were wrong again

But it doesn't matter

Because the sun never sets in this wasteland

bleak outlook then?

You did a pretty good job of painting what is the truth for many
