Joey was sitting in his motorhome, bored and watching TV. He hated having nothing to do. Almost as if on cue, he felt his phone vibrate.
It was Denny. "grab ur phone grab cash get dressed. 6 min"
What the hell? Still, he did as the text instructed. After changing into somewhat nicer clothes, he gathered his wallet, ipod, and phone. He knew Denny was always finding reasons to party, but he'd never been invited along.
When Denny came, he didn't bother knocking. He stuck his head through the doorway, "Come on, Joey! Jesus."
Hiding his excitement, Joey followed Denny out to a white Lexus with the windows rolled down and the radio blaring. He could see Harvick drumming on the steering wheel to the beat of the song. Kyle was doing some sort of fist-pump while chugging beer.
"You're riding in the back with Kyle," Denny ordered.
Kyle was clearly smashed. A slighty creepy grin was plastered on his face as he swayed to the music and took another swig. He bumped knuckles with Joey, then handed him a bottle.
"Um, thanks" Joey said, setting it unopened on the floor. He wasn't much of a drinker.
"Don't even think of drinking that," Denny warned. "Underage drinking leads to puking in the nice car. And I'm not cleaning that up"
"Where are we going?" Joey asked curiously.
"We're getting you LAID!" Denny replied.
"With s***s!" Kyle added excitedly.
Harvick, Kyle, and Denny started throwing around, what seemed to Joey, to be inside jokes. He was thankful to have his ipod. He slipped his headphones on and kept to himself for the majority of the ride.
Eventually, Kyle tried to bring Joey into the conversation. "DUDE. Why aren't you more pumped? You're getting LUCKY tonight!"
"I still don't even know where we're going" Joey said, hoping nobody caught the whininess in his voice.
"We told you," Denny explained. "Oh look. We're here." He slowly smiled as he motioned toward a sign that read Diamond Gentlemen's Club.
"Wha?!" Joey's voice caught in his throat. They had to be joking.
"You might wanna leave valuables in the car" Denny mentioned calmly.
"We're not really going in, right?" Joey felt his ears turn red. "I'm not doing this! And what about Kevin? He's MARRIED."
"Designated driver" Harvick growled at Joey. When Denny had called and asked for a favor, he didn't think it'd mean babysitting Joey Logano and the drunk mess that was Kyle. He wondered how Joey got out without Tom's permission. Didn't he have a bedtime? Joey was still freaking out.
"Shut up, Logano" Denny exhaled. "We've done this before. You'll be fine"
Inside, Joey couldn't have been more nervous. The air was think and smokey, but he could see every girl clearly. His jeans tightened a little. How was he even supposed to do this? Kyle and Denny seemed to have no problem. Each quickly grabbed a girl and walked off. It couldn't be too hard, right? He scanned the room. A brunette off in the corner was raking her long nails through her long hair. He walked towards her and realized her nails were bright orange.
A sign? She wore tall black heel, a skin-tight black minidress, a white metallic belt, and white hoop earrings. She noticed he was looking at her, and she smiled back.
"Hiiii" she said almost shyly. "Name?"
His ears felt warm again. Was there some kind of etiquette? How could he tell her what he wanted? "I'm...Joey" he stumbled.
"Joey? Like on Friends?" She giggled and did her best Tribiani impression. "How you doin?"
He smiled wider. This girl was cute. He decided truthful was the way to go. "A little embarrassed, but I've never really....been in this sort of situation....and I'm not sure where we should be going"
She was impressed by his honesty, but not exactly surprised. Joey looked BARELY legal. Kind of delighted to have him. It was rare for someone so young and so good looking to come into Diamonds.
She pressed against his chest and whispered in his ear. "Come on, then" and grabbed his hand.
He admired her from behind as she led him to one of the rooms.
