The Enemy that is ApathyA Poem by LeoInspired by a poem written by someone close to me called The Onlooker.
You caused the people their pain
Their blood is spilled by your actions You stand aside and they suffer With no intention to make corrections You see her efforts are for nothing Her struggle will end in despair Or will your call to action guide you Will the goodness in you, drag you by the hair Do you stand in the safety of your own homes Do you pray for your neighbors pain Or do you go in to take up arms Take it upon yourself to be the warrior angel Is it possible for you to say You kill them when you stand alone Or do they look upon you Like people unto a holy man in his throne Are you the murderer with apathy as his weapon Are you there for the mother that lost her son Or do you take action, you run Can you stand by and be an onlooker Can you hear the voice of your holy father By standing aside, your innocence made you the enemy God does not give the gift of apathy To help those in need is the highest virtue But its not the victims, it is you.
