One Thousand WordsA Poem by LeoThe things I can say Emotions that I can relay In one thousand words Events I can speak of As if I saw them from above In one thousand Words Wars that were fought People that were bought In one thousand Words Leaders that have lied And because of them, those that have died In one thousand words The feelings that have been felt The pain that has been dealt In one thousand words Things such as love Her beauty and grace exceeding that of a dove In one thousand words Actions fueled by rage Against those who claim to be a sage In one thousand words Those in chains of sorrow Turning away from a better tomorrow In one thousand words The existence of a higher presence To explain the human essence In one thousand words A mix of poetry With a sinners harmony In one thousand words In a world with all of this to see I can still define me In one thousand words With pride and joy, I claim my insanity Believing no being is without vanity In one thousand words I have no room to lie To be different, I try In one thousand words A crowd goes one way, down the same path Me and whoever wishes to be, will stand and laugh In one thousand words More than a simple attraction I willingly take action In one thousand words Freedom is more than a simple desire Without it, I resemble a dying fire In one thousand words
