2 BirdsA Poem by VlazuviusThis is a bit of a break in my usual style, in that it was based on the mood I had at the time and an event that happened that day, rather than stuff I'd kept in my head for reflection.I am weary Is that not enough? My body aches Not in tune with building But degrading Worn against the gears of monotony Rinse and repeat days Run down a sink that looks like gun metal My cereal tastes like rust Each pre-dawn cry of the alarm clock Sounds like a gawker shouting "Do it!" I don't even know how long I've been standing on the ledge I guess you have to eat from trash cans To drink in a carefree day Live in the jungle and f**k monkees To truly know the meaning of bannana The city has no use for yellow I saw two birds today I saw two birds One sat afraid in a tower of concrete Awaiting inevitable death To come in the dark as a stranger But the other bird How he flew © 2008 Vlazuvius |
