Worse Than Murder?

Abortion... For all those who regret the act

So your a woman who had an abortion,
killed your baby that had no say.

Only yourself places down this retribution,
no legal consequence. Nobody gives a say,
In old times that would be morally wrong.

You go to your doctor and give some pay,
to have this deed done PROFESSIONALLY,
and for what reason. Can you tell me why?

Deep down, you don't want the responsibility.

Sometime later, it starts creeping on you,
that regret inside just continues to build,
and all along from within your conscience, you knew

You crying at home as emotions are stilled
the happiness in you is dying slowly,
while you lose touch within thy inner self,
you feel you've outcast yourself into "lonely"

But remember that you are not alone,
there are plenty who have done the same to themselves,
one path alone gets you out of this misery,
by looking within and forgiving your self.

If God does exist, he already forgave you,
there is only one way out of this mess,
by moving forward and staying true.

It's an act of murder,
but you will make it through,
trust in God is all you can do.

Very strong poem! You're so right that abortion is murder and so many women do it and then feel regret. BUT God will forgive so they must forgive themselves. I'm not passing judgement on any woman that has chosen abortion, we all have our belief! Excellent poem
