WASP!A Poem by Viv WadeI don't like wasps. The wasp is a malicious creature, Who has not one redeeming feature, He’ll sting you without reason. Autumn is his busiest time, He’s drunk on wind-fall apple wine, It is his favourite season.
He wears a black and yellow vest, That vicious, beastly, spiteful pest! He thinks he looks so cute. But evil deeds are on his mind, His intentions are all unkind, The foul, sadistic brute. And when you picnic in the park, He’ll go along, just for a lark, To hover round the bin. Then when you take your litter there, He’ll sting your hand without a care, Just as you drop it in.
Mid-winter is the safest time. I’ll go outdoors, and feel sublime, For Waspie is not there. But when the springtime comes around, The air fills with his buzzing sound...
