A Poem by vivekanand

now
it is not far off..
i have come closer..
this road my legs walk upon
in the next left turn
like the river
that carries a boat into the sea
with  motherly love
will drop me at the doors
of my home
yesterday
my house was closer
to the fingers of my dreams
that travelled upon the bridges of my memory
nonetheless,
the way home is nauseating..
buses, trains and autorickshaws
only eat up the distance..
but the pain
on the road lingers
as the silence   in the room
corpse lying in its middle...
now,
with only two steps ahead
and in front of my eyes
my home
is the farthest from me
than anytime before
..

.
. speechless by your brilliance, dear V., and yet again ... you're an incredibly gifted poet ...

. i live in my home ... and i haven't felt more homeless than today ... i had such an unpleasant start to the new year especially ... that i almost gave up on everything again ... but the anthology and all you guys are my saviours ... and i also realized just today ... that poetry is my home ... more than ever before ... and it is in the freedom of expression that i find my permanent residence ...
