How Could I Have Done Such A Thing?

How Could I Have Done Such A Thing?

A Story by Jeremy Lester
"

We've all made mistakes, some worse than others. We've all had our regrets, it's human character. But for Victor, one mistake was too much for him to get over.

"
It was another hot summer evening as Victor laid belly down on his bed with his laptop, reading an old poem he had written when he was 14. There was a peaceful quietness about the atmosphere except for a box fan whirring in the room, a feeble attempt at fighting off the heat, but the breeze was enough to keep the sweat from pouring over him. His room was a mess. Signs of trash, days old, laid scattered on the floor and dressers. Books were lying everywhere, half read and marked with pieces of paper and pens instead of the traditional bookmark.

"How stupid was I?" he said out loud with a chuckle. "I cannot believe I was so naive!" Victor clicked his mouse to read more of the poem. As he finished reading, he shook his head and sighed.

Author's Note

Jeremy Lester
This is not complete. I've never written a good short story or novel, but am in the process of trying to. I'm having trouble getting the formatting right, so I figured I would leave this viewable for everyone to see it as I progress it and to take in advice on how to better it... grammatically and structurally.
