LilyA Poem by Ryan GreenhamA tribute to my recently departed furry friend, Lily
You were serenity in form,
a gentle breeze in the leaves Whenever you laid near, all felt well Golden fur ablaze like the sun, you brightened my soul in the greyest times Brown eyes that soothed my pain more than any pill Your name reflected our blossoming friendship, one that withstood flames and foes and misfortunes I am no gardener, but you were my favourite flower Years passed, your body slowed, but your heart remained steadfast Love unconditional, loyalty unmatched, the pack was your anchor We celebrated your victories, we comforted your defeats Even when fear clouded your mind, we guided you through the haze Now you are gone, but still near I have grown so much in our time together, and even more so now Thank you Lily, my friend now and forever
