A tree alone in a field

A tree alone in a field

A Poem by Joseph Cooper

A tree alone in a field

Surrounded by debris

Battered by the winds

No tree to defend it

his fellow trees dwindled

Left him one by one

The soil left barren

His leaves begin to rot

The tree wishes to die

To never regrow again

Hopeful this winter is the last

That he will never be green again.
