A Night with a TemptressA Poem by Joseph CooperStaring into her eyes, each a dark abyss Reeling from the fire of her blood red lips Pain as her claws entwined my hands And fear as I knew I was here again
The woman caught me late last night As I made ready for an early flight She asked me to come up to her room With a perfect view of the white moon
I walked as she led the way Flames and smoke with every sway I could sense the walls react to her touch I knew she had been here before And I had as well
She opened the door with lithe fingers Upon her hair I let my eyes linger Black as the deepest night When it has been snuffed of all light
She pushed me down to the bed And placed a hand upon my head I fell back and my world went dim Her aphrodisiac turning my sense to whim
She stood above me bathed in moonlight Her skin so smooth, clean and white She leaned over me and stared into my eyes Eyes so beautiful mortal man cannot help but cry
Her eyes were dark black transitioning to brown She was my soulmate, lost and now found Those eyes deep as the darkest abyss Her heart so cunning, she never could miss
I knew that this should have been the end An end to lifes curious turns and bends But her eyes they held me there And my hands fell to her hair
I grabbed her face and held it near Wished to make it perfectly clear That I was not here for just one night Nor for just a single sight
My love she is so silky smooth A voice designed to soothe Eyes designed to lure For me there is no cure
So I lay with the woman in her bed Night after night resting near her head Trapped in her eyes for all time A prisoner of a Passionate Crime Trapped here for all of time But happier than I was before. © 2014 Joseph CooperReviews
