The Ribbon

The Ribbon

A Poem by Lia
"

I got bored in chemistry the other day so I started writing in the margins of my notes.

"
A scarlet ribbon spread
Across her fragile wrist
Slipped down her arm
In dripping loops
Her sobs muffled
By the door
As she watched
The ribbon stain
Her porcelain
Arm
Red

She watched the ribbon
Slide off her wrist
And onto her leg
She saw the smooth
Thin lines that stayed
And knew those lines
Would be left on her thigh

No one wants
A cracked
Porcelain plate
Nor a stained one

But her wrist was broken
Shattered by lines of red
And now her thighs
Were stained too

No one would want
Her anymore

But no matter
No one wanted
Her to begin with

Lia
This was just a random string of thoughts that I got during Chem the other day. (I left out punctuation on purpose.)
