Lost it in the forestA Poem by Where the night sky and fallen blossoms meetI lost the art of ancestors the spirit and the soul I lost in the forest where heat and sins grow Far warned was I by all the elders that surround me yet deaf were my ears as my eyes listened to the noise The rhythm was entrancing, trapped had I become I traded my innocence to capture what wasn't mine The beats pleased my entire being but I was naive and slow before I had knew it, others had joined in where they had come from I have no clue but with push and shove I realized there was no more room for me I stepped out of the forest and looking back I noticed I lost the art of the ancestors my spirit and my soul I lost it in the forest where the heat and sins grow I should have listened, the empty feeling inside me ebbs a constant reminder of what I had lost yet I long to return and snatch what never was mine but there is no more room for me not with the others there © 2011 Where the night sky and fallen blossoms meet |
