Chapter 7~The Job

A Chapter by Where the night sky and fallen blossoms meet

Violet finished her hamburger and fries and left the room. In the hall the lights were dim, giving the hall an essence of creepiness and made the hall seem longer than it really was. Violet wrapped her right hand over her left arm as she walked through the hall looking forward and no where else. She hated to look in her colleagues eyes, for the reason that their eyes expressed fear, since they all knew what she did and she disliked being feared and ignored. Two men saw violet on her way to the office and opened the doors for her. Violet passed through the doors giving no notice to them. “You know violet how you were raised I would have never guessed you would order a hamburger and fries,” a deep voice was being projected from behind the blood red curtains. Violet took a seat and let her self relax. Violet was a petite and slim girl that had always gave the image of innocence and fragile, even though her personality was no where close to backing down from a fight and her skills in fighting no where close letting her lose one. She was in good athletic shape; her long black silky hair surpassed her shoulders. Her hair that was pitch black contrasted greatly making her face stand out. She had full lushes’ lips and eyes that were exquisite. Her eyes as a girl were pearl blue but after a few traumatic experiences and visits with the doctor they became a shade of purple and grey, on occasions her eyes would turn back to pearl blue, but that wasn’t always a good sign. “Many things change over time,” she stated as she stared at the curtains. Leonato came from behind the curtains in his sharp black and white suit. His hair was grey in a tight pony tail and his eyes were placid white, it reminded her of Gabriel’s eyes. “Yes that is true. You did grow from a child to an adult,” he said as he slowly walked to his desk. Violet stared placidly at Leonato’s old features; she never really noticed how old he was getting. Violet and Leonato, both unknowingly were reminiscing of the time they first met each other.
“So what is the business problem this time?” Violet asked with out any hesitations. Leonato slid a packet of papers across his desk to Violet. “It seems our neighbors and our competitors are thinking of joining forces,” he started as she picked up the packet and looked through them. “I’m leaving it to you, to persuade them otherwise. Make it clear of the circumstances,” he finished. “Do I have a specific time limit as to when I should be done with this?” she asked as she stood up. Leonato looked out the window, “Effective immediately and be safe about it.” Violet nodded, “As you say,” she said before leaving the room and closing the doors behind her.T
