I felt your hand in the dark, the warmth radiating, the roughness of your skin, the gentle stroke of your thumb back and forth across my palm. I can still feel it. I drifted uneasily, wishing you were next to me. I felt you tug softly on my hand, knowing you wished the same. The silence was peaceful and content, but still interrupted by the conversation we were not having. I wanted your voice, but I knew that would confirm this and make it real. So I closed my eyes and imagined it.
