Hope

Hope

A Poem by Tara

I've seen hope.

It has eyes.

Brown.

Deep set.

Unforgiving.

It sighs.

Trembling

with each sideways glance.

The faint whisper of desire.

There are days

it feels of torture.

As it pounces

unexpectedly

willing expectations

Creating traces

of Sepia dreams.

It can be a mad creature.

Stalking the crevices of mind

It is that carrot

dangling

just over the pale horizon

of a life

Insistent

in its unrelenting taunt.

Thank goodness Hope is so unrelenting. I guess we'd be in a far different place without it.

This is very interesting. I've never seen 'Hope' described in this fashion. I'm intrigued by your piece. I like the imagery you've created.
