![]() She WroteA Poem by TaraShe wrote to keep death at bay. Some nights there was a fury to her scribbling As if the demons were close on her heels. There was a tenderness to her poetry Yet one could not deny the layers of madness.
Her best poems were penned in cemeteries and at dusk when tall shadows of trees fell across the tombstones.
She wrote the stars as they lit the grave laden field She wrote the river of tears how they pooled in the moonlit pond. But she could not write his smile or the way his eyes gazed upon her for the last time.
As the sun disappeared behind the hill, She ended each one with an epitaph closed her book and walked back into life One poem stronger. © 2008 TaraReviews
