Realizations

Realizations

A Poem by Lauren N. Rodriguez

Let them wonder
Where I've went
Let them see
How I've wept

All the secrets I tried to hide,
They're coming out;
They're still alive

Walking on,
My eyes are full
Walking on,
Head held high

Hand in hand with Mom;
this is how it will always be
And
It's finally happened
We're all breaking free

We're leaving
He's gone
He doesn't need me
And
I've suddenly realized,
Saw it all a lie
What one thinks as love,
Is only hate in disguise
