Resolution

Resolution

A Poem by Lauren N. Rodriguez

I will give you no excuse to hold me back,
No exception to hold me down

I will give you no sign of weakness or defeat;
I will certainly laugh in defiance

I will give you every regret for abandoning us...
Let you rot in the own remorse you have sown

I will give no complaint of your deficiencies nor your lack of respect
I am stronger than this
And
Will never search for your approval

I will give you infinite things to think about,
Let you ponder how I made it without you-
Truth is,
I never really needed you;
I have my mom

I will give you a series of troubles before I leave you for good;
Calamities that could have been prevented
And
Others to be misunderstood

I will give you love no more,
For you have lost it;
Hate is what you deserve
And
Yet I remain to control it

I will give you every unbreakable boundary,
Let you watch my life pass by unable to touch it...
You will sit
And
Regret your every move

I will give you no voice of outcry
Nor
A plead of sanity,
I am done with who you are
Because
You have become like the rest of humanity
