This profound time of preparation, as we celebrate the coming of Jesus into our world is fast approaching. Why are we preparing and who are we preparing for...?We are not only preparing our hearts as a remembrance of Jesus fisrt coming into the world. We are also looking forward to the final parousia, when the heavens will burst open, and The King will make his final judgemnt of this world. However, even as we look forward with great anticipation, we do not ignore his first coming; the event in history that has revolutionised the entire thinking and action of humanity. As we approach the anniversary of this moment in time - of this experience, let us continue to prepare ourselves by ensuring that Jesus' blood shed on Calvary washes away all our sins. Let us utilise these weeks of preparation to make a true repentance (Mk. 1:15, Lk.13: 3,5). Let us not ignore the importance of this inner spiritual self in all our busy activities for Christmas. As we prepare our homes and our properties for this day, let us also visit the Sacrament of Confession to ensure that we are spiritually healed and that we are liberated by the blood of the lamb from our mortal or deadly sins. This is the foundation of our faith and our action as Catholic Christians.
We lit the first candle for Advent in our church Sunday. This time of year is so special, I loved what you had to say and the simple truth you set before us. If just one person gets it, it was well worth the write, and if it makes just one ponder the truth a mighty seed has just been planted.
The blood covenant that God has extended to Man is amazing and we will never completely understand this gift, but the great thing is all we have to do is except the gift of salvation. The only catch is we must claim that gift. Christ’s perfect sacrifice has enabled us to be joint-heirs of God’s kingdom, to be true children of the creator of all things. He is the great and living, the wonderful and all knowing, the merciful and loving, God the Father. Pled the blood of Jesus, confess your sin’s and see what peace and love you will be filled with.
