to love someoneA Poem by Vincent Esprit FMIto love someone is more complex than what is written below...... but
Love goes beyond that feeling in our hearts, It starts with with this feeling of course, And thank God, But this momentum cannot be maintained. Sooner or later 'stabilisation' steps in, This initial momentum is indispensible to what follows, For it acts as the initial contact in all its jubilance! The 'stabilisation' steps in and to many it is no longer love, This is where the true test comes in, Am I ready to live my life with you when your faults are..... At this stage the positives of the person becomes consequential, It is no longer experienced for it self, More often than not it is seen only because of another reason or fact. Never for itself alone, How to deal with that, A Complicated and sensitive issue, This is where I believe commitment steps in,. You see this initial "heart beating, blood screaming in exultation" has to give way to commitment and faithfulness, Am I able to commit my life to you.... knowing who you are, And most often this "knowing who you are" becomes the faults of the other ... This commitment should not be that difficult, Since the initial 'jubilation in ecstasy' would have already prepared us for this moment of truth, But sadly too many a couple it is the moment of departure, Irreconcilable differences.... Of course who in the kitchen feels the heat! But many are those who do not reflect on these issues, For they like all humans are scared of being alone themselves, So we quickly find another and the process begins, No one is perfect, Can we not work it out, Sometimes the obvious is separation,,,,,tearing of the heart! Faithfulness and commitment too good old friends.... Are not outside of love, They are intrinsic to loving, And have always been so.....
