"Sleep"

"Sleep"

A Poem by Vincent Esprit FMI
"

falling asleep in front of the computer.....

"

My eyes,

With you are bathed,

As my legs,

 To life farewell bids,

And you

My body devour.

My ears

From my head does crawl,

As your cold hand of stillness,

My lips invade,

And you

My body devour,

My fingers,

Lazily the letters seek,

As into the cold sphere of stillness they plunge,

And you,

My body devour,

My heart,

In its constancy delights,

As my mind

Your fields of oblivion embrace,

And you,

My body devour,

My breath,

Into the realms of tranquillity ascend,

As my eyes,

Struggle to behold your face,

And you,

My body devours.

 My head,

To your majesty bows,

And ……………

Ugh, ugh, ugh, ugh, ugh, ugh.

It never ceases to amaze me how we try to fight that sleep...yet we bow to it in the end (smile)......
