No One Applauded
Here in this place of bodies Young, sitting bodies Here in this place of stage Of wires and plug ins and mic tests Of intros Of lights and the dark beyond Here where my decision rested And hope flowed in silent objective And eyes gazed And guitars sounded off to a finger's itch Here where i came to pour something out Where mouths opened and closed and heads diverted and conversation having nothing to do music, ruled Where i stood naked, revealed And the efforts of my soul, cried Where melody met lyric but only had each other and then not even that where i left the stage, wondering what language it was i didn't know that I'd forgotten never learned That had only silence as thanks And eyes that dared not look As i followed the silence out to a street of similar distinction To a train of stoic others: unheard unappreciated unsung. © 2011 vinny ciambriello |
