Speaking of the devil wasn't what I intended
It's just something that happened
Sure, I thought of him right when they said it
But I really didn't think he would come
It wasn't long after the words had been said
That he appeared walking right past us
Immediately, voices began ringing
"Speak of the devil!" "Speak of the devil!"
She looked up, looked straight at him
I screamed, "Don't make it so obvious!"
Since he didn't know that we spoke of him
But as we kept talking, he turned his head
Looking at us, he gave us a face
A face that sends hatred
He walked away with us yelling,
"Speak of the devil!" "Speak of the devil!"
He gave us one glance, one last look of hatred
Then he turned away and just disappeared
But I saw him, one last time
Muttering words about me under his breath
Talking about me like I wasn't there
And in his eyes, I could see it buring in his mind
He wil remember this day forever
And he won't ever let it go
And he won't keep it a secret, oh no
He'll tell everyone, everyone he can get to
He'll never show a sign of stopping
No, he will not
To this day I regret speaking of that devil
For he has haunted me all this time
So please, never say what you don't mean
And always speak of the angels
Because if you don't
You'll end up living like this
Being haunted by the devil
Remember
Speak of the devil and the devil shall come
