How old are you?

How old are you?

A Poem by vima parthan
"

I believe this writing of mine talks about that very important thing in life we all ignore giving the reason of age.

"

"By the side of 40 what do you anticipate me to accomplish?"

I had no answer at that moment, but today I do mommy.

You constantly sacrificed all your happiness for me

You fatigued yourself in the kitchen to satisfy

my taste buds and I by no means thanked you.

But today mommy I need to enlighten you

Age is plainly a number, it doesn't quantify your flair

When you spent hours doing domestic errands your age dissipates

Much as your age doesn't get subjected there, then why does

it matter when you have to create your identity mommy.

I commit to memory on your academy stories

When you were punished every other day

on the grounds that you were rebellious in nature

WHERE is that daring and audacious mommy today?

Are you giving your age the rationale for your fragmentary dreams?

Every time I admired and longed-for your talent

You would say " I was a luminary that time not anymore"

Mommy when your talents haven't changed then why

do you dread to live your dreams, the only thing that

Changed is you have become a stronger woman now.

Five years later than I told her this

I stand finer to be her descendant

seeing that she is living her dream

Being the woman she always wanted to be

I am proud of you mommy..

Life is jam-packed with chances until you give up

You are merely as old as you sense, so what matters is what you sense

So next time someone asks you " How old are you?"

You know what to say!

Hey..a very inspiring piece of writing indeed.
Life is jam packed with chances and age never does matter if you are ambitious at heart!
Very well written :)
