The Devil's Rapture

The Devil's Rapture

A Poem by S. Whitaker
"

A poem about the damning nature of the devil and how tempting sin can be.

"

Come hither and wither,

Oh child of mine.

Come hither come hither

You sweet little swine

Come hither and wither

My hands are as silk

Come hither come hither

My touch is thy ilk

Thy mentor, thy tormentor

I'll always be.

Thy mentor, thy tormentor

You come back to me.

Thy mentor, thy tormentor

As I lie in thy bed

Thy mentor, thy tormentor

He should be here instead.

Never fair-weather

Yet never thy friend.

Never fair-weather

I long for your end.

Never fair-weather

I come as I please.

Never fair-weather

So fall to your knees.

Please...

Please...

Please...

Very interesting !

This seems to be an old theme , but with an imaginative,
sweet and vulnerable story line.

The poem appears to be an intimate recital, yet so delicately
handled that it will appeal to everyone.

I love it !
My favorite.

i loved this poem so dark & enchanting. it reminds me of something that could have been written in the middle ages. the flow is smooth as honey. i love the repetition of the lines. beautifully written.
