Dance of touches

Dance of touches

A Poem by Victoriana

They hold my hand and in return I arch my back and smile.
Maybe they even get to land their hands on my waist?
Dance of touches,
They want to hold someone, and
Am I not just a pretty thing to hold?
I also care about making people happy -
Lay your hand in mine or may you put it on my shoulder,
but no more than that. Not now.
You see, do not take it personally,
I'm a little needy, little flaky and
Just a little sad.
I need a lot of you to make me laugh,
Therefore you must take shifts...
A job too big for just one person.
Let me love all of you and laugh with
All of you and in return,
I will lean on you and let you warm me up.

A charming, whimsical piece... I liked the description, 'a little flaky, a little sad' and the final invitation to warm you up. Captures the fragility of need...
