Spiral of Life

Spiral of Life

A Story by Victoriana

The spiral of life tied my feet as I was running and with unimaginable fear I fell to the ground. The more I moved and tried to escape, the more it continued to wrap around my calves, thighs, waist, shoulders and neck. And then finally it reached my head and went right through it, destroying everything on its way - my stagnant beliefs, shallow dreams, my own and the world's image I’ve created through many years, besides fear I also felt horrible pain. But right that moment, when there was nothing left, only ruins of something old and fake, it whispered me: “Don’t fear, I’ll take care”. Just when I became exhausted and I stopped trying to run, I felt the spiral getting loose and I knew - now I can fly instead.

An intriguing take on a kind of being born again situation... As is often the case, the phoenix arises out of the ashes. Letting go of the past is hard but often necessary.

Wonderful lexis and imagery. Only thing I will say is to separate the lines as a big chunk of text is a little hard to read. Keep up the good work
