WHAT IF...A Poem by Victory H. Izevbekhai
What if the stars fall down
Upon our sins and iniquities And nobody gets a crown Not even the holiest? What if out of utter silence The trees cry out in anguish With voices that have been in absence In a world that does languish? What if the moon goes red Red so thick as the blood of a thousand men Slain for a cause so innocent And buried to ever be forgotten? What if the sun goes cold Or chooses to disappear Being weary of the evil that abounds in this world? No, not one soul would it spare! • And what if there is no pen What if there are no words nor ink What would the poet do then What would become of me? © 2017 Victory H. Izevbekhai |
