Straightforward

A Poem by violet michelle

You never were good with words, darling.
You just yelled what came to your mind,
and down the walls came.
Your obsessions didn't want you,
and though it was your decision to make,
you let the darkness control your happiness.
Through cracked concrete,
the vines of sorrow grew,
engulfing you before I could tell you.
You never would tell me what you really thought.
You never knew. 'I guess.' 'I guess.' 'I guess.'
'Til the day when it ate out your sanity,
and there you went,
spiraling down into the dark voids of hell.
And still you tormented all of us,
and told us that you'd never fall in love again.
You never knew. 'I guess not.' 'I guess not.' 'I guess not.'
