Oblivion

Oblivion

A Poem by Vidya Bacchus
"

Sometimes you just want to sink.

"
                                                                          Oblivion

My pain is my own,
Yet you stand there with your pity,
And "I know how you feel"
How could you? Why would you want to?
I wish to feel numb safe from this torment,
And you want to "understand this feeling"
I want to be appreciative and grateful,
For your kindness but I'm hurt,
And you don't understand,
And no, you have no inkling of my sorrow,
Leave me be,
Let me drown in nothingness.
And if you are my friend,
And you want to ease my pain,
You will meet me on the other side,
Where your kindness isn't like a thorn,
Digging deeper into my wound,
But a healing salve on my aching heart.

so so true .. we want to take some of the burden ourselves but simply do not know how .. some of the best and most prized things friends share is comfort in silence .. you say it very eloquently .. i think this poem is rich and noteworthy .. can be said a hundred times if need be .. sound wisdom to remember

Thank you very much Pryde :)
You know we all have a dark place in our minds and when it opens up like a black hole there is none that can save us, only we can save ourselves… very well written.

That even I'm trying to figure out.
Wow! In every lost in pain struggle, the kindness of others trying to drag us out, rather than walk us through, can hurt deeper than hatred. Your poem perfectly captured that state.

beautiful poem ma'am,
it is a message, and yes indeed it is really difficult to feel what a person is feeling in some situation.

Thank you Quill :)
Sometimes the ones you would think see the most are the most blind. They think they know what we are going through when all they really know is what they went through. Then they try to project those feelings onto you as if that is supposed to make you feel better and in reality it makes you feel worse. Iv'e been there myself. I can identify for sure. But all is better now and writing does let us contructively vent.

Oh, my darling angel patootie!! You have penned this exactly spot on. We don't always know or understand what someone is going through or has gone through. Life treats us all differently. All we can do is lend a hand and promise to be there in the end. Fantastic, love!! xoxo :)

This is sad Vidya. I am sorry that you are feeling so much pain. Sometimes the ones closest to us cannot see what we are going through.
