Don't Judge Me

Don't Judge Me

A Poem by Vidya Bacchus
"

Different does not mean that you are less than anyone else.

"
                                            Don't Judge Me

I am that little boy,
Who has the world on his shoulders,
I am that little girl,
Dreaming of the day when she'll  get older,
I am that old man who fought for his country,
And now back home he's always running on empty.

Life has been unkind,
And people are so mean,
Judging and laughing,
Inflicting wounds that bleed unseen,
What is our true worth?
Aren't we all one day consigned to the dirt?

So don't laugh at me,
Don't make me cry,
One day we'll all be the same,
Facing our maker whatever his name,
So don't mock me as being weak,
Accept me for being unique.

If people would be more tolerant of each other instead of mocking and jeering at each other for being different. It would be a better world.

Truthful to the core of the matter. We are all after all human and deserve chances. An excellent message...:)......

Definitely agree with your words. Humanity was born out of one place and we will die to meet again in some way. If people knew this, if people believed the truth that we are bonded together even if in an invisible form, I think there would be less hatred. Then again humans are selfish and injustice no matter what they are told or shown. Beautiful write, my friend. Sad but beautiful and true.

Love the truth in this poem Vidya. Yes if we can accept others and be accepted our self's then this world would be much better. Who knows what some encouragement instead of ridicule would do for someone.

Yes it is Vidya :)
"If you prick us, do we not bleed?" Beautiful poem, Vidya, and yes, this is so true. I have argued till I am purple with some prejudiced people. We are all the same.

Yes cat we are all the same.Thank you :)
How true, Vid! we're all the same, deep down. "aren't we all consigned to the dirt?" what gives one the right to judge or look down on others? sadly, some have taking it upon themselves "to put the world to right", convinced that their religion is the best, their God is the best.
a good, no-nonesense message.

Really we are all one in the same deep down just with our own little differences… those who judge in reality are judging themselves.
