CharadeA Poem by Vidya BacchusThings are never what they seem Charade Take off your mask and end this charade, Wrap me in your arms as the music fades, Let me know heaven if only this once, To be the belle of the ball that leaves everyone stunned. In your arms I'm beautiful and worthy of you, Alone I wonder what did I do, To deserve someone who sees me as such, When I look in the mirror I don't see this much. I am but a plain, ordinary girl, And you are Casanova a man of the world, Who claims to have found his anchor in me, And been cured from his need to be restlessly free. I choose to believe in happy ever after, Even though I've navigated many a disaster, I will be Snow or Belle and tame the beast, If not in reality in my dreams at least.
