When you run out of excuses.

                  ANGRY

 

I made excuses for you at every turn,

And polished and pasted,

To make your sins seem less than,

The monumental treachery that they were.

 

I am so angry,

That you keep proving to me,

Just what you really are,

And I have run out of excuses.

 

It is amazing that you cannot see,

The way you tear me apart,

The way I still yearn to be near you,

Even bleeding and broken beyond repair.

 

To you I am the unreasonable one,

And you have erred not at all,

I am screaming so loud because I need you to understand,

That I have no justification for you.

  

And I give up,

You will never change into the you,

That I believed you were,

And I have run out of reasons to remain at your side.

This is my favourite stanza........

Sometimes we get so disappointed in people we love and trust.
To a point where even the excuses we make for them do not make sense anymore.

What we women will do to save a relationship! And it makes me reflect upon how society and culture has shaped women to be vessels upon which much of the work in a relationship is pouring out from. Perhaps we are innately so. We can love unconditionally and blindly and expect the same in return. The tragedy lies in our expectations, the frustration in the futility.
